Age is obviously an issue in men's fashion but doesn't have to stop you from looking stylish. “The key is choosing the right look for you as an individual without giving that mutton dressed as lamb impression” (JC Campbell). Style and fashion are not just for the young man.  Here are a few tips to help you achieve your unique look.

1.) Try and wear clothes that fit properly.  The worst thing you can do is wear a shirt that is two sizes to small or a pair of pants hanging off your rear.  Put on a tapered shirt and that perfectly tailored suit.

2.) Try and not go overboard with accessories.  The accessories you wear should blend in with the color scheme, and just add hints of colors in areas you want them to, like scarves, ascots, hanky's, and neckties.

Oversized Bowties

More and more these days men are wearing Bowties not because they have to, but because they want to. Well we can even take it one step further that more men are wearing Over-sized Bowtie. A man’s bowtie is one accessory that can completely change the look of the outfit.  The key is separating a style that says “I am on my way to work” from a look that is more “I just feel like wearing a trendy over-sized purple bow tie”.  In the end you have to know your own style and confidence level.

When Do You Wear A White Suit?

The best rule here is during the warmer months of the year.  Experts say only when it is 72 degrees or warmer.  Places that are appropriate for the White Suit are daytime weddings, summer parties in the open air, and the very popular white parties are all perfect times to rock the white suit. Basically, any time the temperature rises; a white suit is an appropriate choice that will look smart.

There are so many ties out there, many types, many brands, so what sticks out the most is Novelty ties. I feel like it’s good to have at least one Novelty tie in your wardrobe, whether you collect them or just like wearing them for different occasions.  So grab a novelty tie with pictures ranging from animals, to food, to hobbies, to college stripes it is always fun to have in your wardrobe.

Here a few tips that will get you stepping in the proper direction.

The kind of shirt you are wearing will help you dictate what type of shoe you should go for.  If you are wearing a button down shirt with a pair of suspenders and casual pants or nice jeans go for the dressier loafer.

If you are wearing a Sweater or Flannel shirt, then a pair of boots or a thicker soled shoe is appropriate. 

Finally keep the tennis shoes and sandals for sporty occasions.  A nice shirt, leather belt and jeans with a pair of Tennis Shoes is a fashion faux pas.
